Is there any way at all you can convert the protected AAC files (m4a) into mp3's? I've tried dbpoweramp, but it won't convert them. Is there any way you can convert thme into a different format even besides mp3? |

If dbPowerAMP can't do convert them then there's usually no legal way to do it. |

Is there any special codec I can download to do it? And why wouldn't it be legal another way? I'd still own the song. |

Well, besides the AAC codec, no. It's true that you'd still own the song, but see, if you convert it into .mp3 format, Apple has no control over it anymore, and you could easily distribute it over some P2P program. Besides, it's probably stated somewhere in the iTunes Terms of Service that you can't brute-force convert .aac's into other file formats, otherwise they wouldn't be encrypted. |
