It would not be reasonable. That would be as bad as saying hey you broke our rules but we will ignore it if you bribe us. That is not how it works here. Your board either stays closed or it is reopened for free. |

And here is a quick summary of our policy. We investigate each report and factor in the following: 1. Is the admin aware of the issue? If not should he have been aware (was it posted months earl;ier). Did the admin encourage or prohibit the behavior? 2. Was the forum directly aware of the violation? Often the admin will post outright and say he is violating the rules but does not care. 3. Were there multiple violations? Some violations make each other worse. For example having people under 13 and posting adult content is much worse than either separate violation. 4. Was the type of violation severe? Illegal activities are obviously more severe than excessive profanity. The decision to warn a board is affected by the following factors: 1. Does the violation need to be removed this instant? 2. Will the admin heed the warning in a timely matter? Lets face it, you guys got here rather fast, but the average response to a warning takes several days. 3. What was the intent? Was the admin aware of the ToS violation? We certainly won't give a second chance to someone who violated the rules and was aware of it. 4. The most important factor is: Did the admin take part? We never close a board because of a single member out to cause trouble on it. |

The only time we invoke that part of the Terms of Service is if the board owner is out for trouble and knows very well what he did or if someone demands to know who reported them. |

Lothia http://s6.invisionfree.com/LegendArena/ - Using images from skin without credit given. Could also be considered leeching since there is no proper credit. (Status: Can be reopened) http://s6.invisionfree.com/nightstorm/ - Multiple underaged users. Adult content. possible racism. (Status: Will not be reopened) Bogeytown http://s3.invisionfree.com/gamecreators_hideout/ - Attempting to break into other boards. Linked with several cases. (Status: Will not be reopened. Banned from support forum) JimmyNZ http://s2.invisionfree.com/SPNZ/ - Pornography. Was aware of the rules and decided to start a limited access section instead. (Status: Will not be reopened) Sephiros, what is your board's URL? |

I find it slightly ironic that the one person who was calm and respectful that had their board closed was the only person who had the least minor violation and thus can even get the board back. mmmm, 6 posts in a row. Well at least its more organized and easier to read as separate posts

Hi. My board was closed last night on server 7. http://s7.invisionfree.com/No_Rulez It says I violated the ToS. I read the terms several times and can't see what it was that I did to break them. Could you please point out what it was I did and if there is any chance of getting my board back? Thanks Mark |

I don't know for certain but if the content of your board had anything to do with the name "No Rulez" then members could have posted anything that is against the TOS. |

Well well, people make mistakes huh? I never got time to fix whatever I had on the forums. No Admin was probably on..... SO HOW MUCH does it cost to get my board re-opened? Even though I already asked this question and knowone bothers to answer....This is too foolish....lol now users have to be a certain age to be in your forum.... <_< .....this will lose you much business......Hey Admins, do you have any boards? I can probably find at least 1 thing that goes against the TOS......oh man this great........ |

Sephiros, Duffman has already stated that we don't accept money to reopen a board. He also asked what your URL was so that we can inform you the status of your board as well as the violation it had. In addition, it is not IF's decision to limit our users by age. Many countries around the world don't allow companies to collect personal information from children under the age 13 for privacy concerns. In the US this law is known as the COPPA. Here is a link if you want to read up on it. http://www.ftc.gov/os/1999/10/64fr59888.htm ~Brian |

Sorry for the double post. Anyway, MarkUK, your board http://s7.invisionfree.com/No_Rulez was shut down due to several complaints that your members were spamming other boards with advertisements for your board, most likely with the admins knowledge. Since this is an annoying violation, but not as serious as some of the other ones that were posted earlier, your board will probably be reopened. ~Brian |

OK Thank you for your feedback Brian. I appreciate it. I have found the member that did this. Apparently the person that did it posted the link a couple of times on a few forums where they & I used to post. I have spoken with them and they have promised not to do it again if my board gets reopened. Sorry for any inconvienience and trouble caused Mark |

And in going for the third post in a row.... A quick message to our users. Invisionfree hosts almost 200,000 boards. Last night we caught up with all of the reports we've received and shut down almost 30 boards for varying violations. Doing the math, that means that roughly .015% of boards were affected by this. I'd like to thank the 99.985% (and even those in the .015% that were honest and polite, like MarkUK) that have respected our rules and made our jobs easier. Thanks everyone and enjoy your boards. ~Brian |
