Switching browsers won't help much if spyware is using up most of the internet connection >_>.

Guys, it's obvious he just wants his problem fixed, not dive into a whole new browser whether you think it's better or not. Who is your ISP, and what were you doing when it suddenly started going slow? If you're using cable, you should try restarting the modem. If you're using dial-up.. that in itself explains it.

It is most likely not your browser, it is likely to be you ISP <_< stop hitting IE, it is not a bad browser

However no one in my area get the hits. I did not mention internet explorer as a bad browser. :haha:

Thank you.

-Victory-

It could be as simple as there is a fault in only ur connection...or theres an undetectable virus...it rlly isnt that bifg a deal..do u have DSl or Dial-up or wat?

The reason you say that IE isn't a bad browser is because you have SP2.
In the days before SP2, people were filled with panic and doom. IE had so many security holes that it caused systems to crash.
Even SP2 didn't patch those holes; it just stopped a couple of pop-ups from popping up.
But since everybody is entitled to their own opinion, you can continue believing.

Victory, get another browser. IE is unsafe. If you continue using it, your computer will gradually deterioate.

And that will help her current problem how? Odds are IE itself is not being slow but some other influence is causing it to be slow. If you can't post helpful advice in a thread where someone is asking for it please don't post at all.

Don't get me wrong, I do agree switching to a safer browser would help to possible prevent this in the future but it does not help to fix her current problem.

Anyways, Victory, try the link KoolDrew gave as well as what dearster recommended.

Thanks for all the replies. I still get no spywares and virus. I'm also not thinking of switching IE to Firefox for the moment, since this is the first time. :/ My ISP is Starhub, i tried restarting the modem, but it didn't help much. Thanks again guys. I think i observe the speed for a few more days, before i ask for professional help.

Thanks again.

Um...

Victory, contact your ISP. If it isn't your browser, then it must be the safety of the connectivity, which is provided by the ISP.

Oh, and by the way, do you have a router? That should enforce security much stronger.
