I called them down in a few days time, i'll just observe the situation for the moment. I'm not sure if i had a router. Whats the difference between these browsers, like Firefox, IE, Netscape, etc... Is there a page that list all the functions so that i can compare? Does Firefox work better in the west than in the east? If i use firefox, can i keep IE too? By using firefox now, can that fix the current situation? I'm just curious. Thank you. -Victory- |

Run the Chkdsk tool, run spyware/adwaer check. Get a virus remover. Eventually, use a disk space remover your computer should run overall faster, and probably your internet will speed up. If not, use firefox, or another browser. |

There is no major differences with the browsers, they all display webpages. No, by using firefox there is no guarantee it will fix your current situation [I found FireFox to be slower then IE so it could make your situation worse]. It all really depends on what is causing your problem. If it is your ISP then I don't think moving to another browser will make any difference. Helen |

IE is actually quicker than firefox, but there is much more spyware designed to get through IE than through Firefox (or any other browser for that fact). For this reason, using another browser often means less spyware, meaning less malicious coding attempting to contact the author of the spyware, which in turn leads to an overall quciker connection. With that being said, it's all down to personal opinion. If you are used to the way IE looks and handles, by all means continue to use it. Some people dislike the lack of features available in Firefox (although quite a few know nothing about the extensions available for it). Personally I'd rather not have to format my hard drive once a year because of the spyware that destroys your computer, which is the reason I'm using Firefox. If there wasn't such a threat, I would most certainly be using IE, and most of the other browsers designed to function on Windows would be obselete (sp?). |

In the 5/6 years I've had my computer I've only had to reload Windows once and that wasn't anything to do with spyware, it was to do with me not knowing anything about computers and stupidly opening an e-mail that had a virus in it, never done something so stupid since. Maybe I've been one of the lucky ones but in all the years I've used IE I've never had a problems, unlike with 5 minutes of using Firefox where there was no end of problems. Helen |

Switch to firefox, your computer is telling you to switch to the better browser, or you just have a virus. |
