Minor problem Ghetto.  The PS3 footage in most cases wasn't pre-rendered.  The most striking example being the Killzone footage.

That was pre-rendered. Killzone was the main thing pre-rendered. They said they "expect it to be like this when it is finished."

Actually no. According to Sony it was rendered in real time.

I just read 3 pages on the internet about the PS2 and Xbox 360 each, and I read a few mags on both. Im pretty sure I know what Im talking about.

Quote:

1. Free online play. And one more thing. I have never been disconnected while playing a game. nor my opponent. NEVER

Dont you have to buy that stupid connector to put on the back of the PS2?

Quote:

2. Has TONS and TONS of more games than the xbox does.

That might be true, but a lot of them are crappy games some company just stamped out and sold for 5 bucks, they are necessarily quality games.

Quote:

3. Has a line that you can connect to your computer and sava data over there
(HAHAHA that is unlimited space. over 35 GB on my computer)
Not unlimited. Even so, you wouldnt need that much space. And what would be stupid, you have to hook up your PS2 and computer before saving/loading a game.

Quote:

4.Has much more accesories

Can you be more specific? Every console has a large amount of accessories.

Quote:

5. teh controller vibrates and gives you a very cool experince

The Xbox does too.

Quote:

6. It has some awsome graphics that are unbeatable

No. I was a PS2 fan once, but once I saw the Xbox's, I couldnt resist. Sold my PS2 and bought an Xbox. Best thing Ive ever done.

Quote:

7. The way that the controller is built makes it better to play fighting games on

If youve only played the Xbox once or twice, but already have a PS2, thats why. You need to get the feel for the Xbox controller, then you will find it is smooth for all games.

Quote:

8. It has 4 diffrent versions (PS1, PS2, PSP, the flat PS2)

We are talking about the PS2. Wow.

Quote:

9. Costs way less than xbox and is better

Yeah, you usually do pay less for a crappier system, and how is it better?

Quote:

10. The memory cards are small and easy to carry. You can fit over 20 of them in your back pocket.

Sadly, they cost over $10 a piece, so that alone would be $200 (at least).

I would do the same... but too many damn good games come out for consoles these days. They just keep pulling me back in. :(

You guys know nothing. the PS3 is teaming up with the most powerful chip makers in thw world to give you a blasting experince. and please, when the PS2 came out, it was for 200 dollars. but when the XboX came out, it costed 400 dollars. Not to mention it has a built in memory card which sucks becuase if u want to transfer data to your friend's console, you will have to take your whole console over to him. Plus you have to pay for the internet usage for the Xbox, while for the PS3, you dont. Not to mention great titles such as Grand theft auto san andreas and others were only realeased for the PS2 and not XboX because it sucked. Also, the PS2 has the most accesories to it. It even has a handheld PSP that goes on the Internet! While the XBOX has ****.

Both costed $300 USD.

And Sony had a contract with Rockstar to make Grand Theft Auto games [ INITIALLY ] just for the PlayStation for 5 years.

PRICING

Typically the last two generations of the PlayStation have been priced at around $300 at launch. Both have continuously decreased in price year on year into their life, its quite likely PS3 will do the same. It's not known how much it will cost but around $300 is probably a fair guess, as this is the maximum price most gamers would be willing to way. There are some unexpected extra features, such as the 2 HDMI outputs and 3 Gigabit RJ45 LAN connections, that will likely drive the price tag up a fair amount!

COMMONLEY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will PS3 play PS2 and PS1 games?
Yes! They will! Sony Computer Entertainment boss Ken Kutaragi has confirmed that the PlayStation 3 will feature backwards compatibility with the PS2 and PSone, ensuring continued support for older software formats in the new hardware. Later it was confirmed again at the Sony’s E3 conference that the PS3 will be fully backwards compatible with PS1 and PS2 games. There hasn’t been any confirmation though if the PS3 will make PS2 games look better when playing like the PS2 did with PS1 games.

What will PS3 look like?
The PS3 design was unveiled at Sony’s E3 conference. It has an “outward feel” compared to the Xbox360’s “inward feel”. The console is approximately 13.5 inches in length and 3.5 inches wide as reported by IGN. This in contrast to the PS2 design is much larger and is closer in size to the original Xbox in size. The console’s “outward” design gives it a larger footprint for the console to stand vertically on its own without an add-on stand. The drive bay sits on the right side like the PS2 but instead of using a tray the discs slide into the drive much like a car CD player. Also the drive sits slightly back in the design giving the console a reminiscent look to the original Nintendo Entertainment System. Finally the console has the words “Playstation3” across the side in a font that is very close to the font used in Sony Pictures’ Spiderman movie.

How powerful will the PS3 be?
On paper, the PS3 is 2x more powerful than the Xbox 360 and 15x more powerful than the Nintendo Revolution. It has a processing capacity of 2.18 TFLOPS, which is put into context when you realise the FASTEST computers in existence can only do 36 Terraflops. It is said to be 35x more powerful than the PlayStation 2 is.

Will PS3 games be playable online?
Yes, at Sony’s E3 conference they confirmed that Sony will have an online service very comparable to Microsoft’s Xbox Live service.

LMAOOOOOOOOOO. this is going to put XboX to shame. I would like to see what xbox has come up with

Compare the Xbox 360 and the PS3 spec for spec with all the necessary research on the parts done instead of completely unbased opinions and simply posting the PS3 specs and saying "omgz111!111one liek teh xbox is so pwn3d!!111".
