Out of the box, the PS3 will have the capability to support seven Bluetooth controllers. It will also have six USB slots for peripherals--four up front and two in the back. Sony also laid out the technical specs of the device. The PlayStation 3 will feature the much-vaunted Cell processor, which will run at 3.2 Ghz, giving the whole system 2.18 teraflops of overall performance. It will sport 256mb XDR main RAM at 3.2 Ghz, and have 256MB of GDDR VRAM at 700mhz. Im going with Ps3 on this one |

PS3 CPU: 3.2GHz PowerPC with 7 SPE units /w 512KB and 256KB memory each Xbox 360 CPU: 3 Symmetrical 3.2GHz PowerPC cores When you consider the fact that the SPEs are no where near as powerful as the general cores the two systems look fairly close in overall CPU horsepower, of course I'm no expert in the next gen console tech. PS3 GPU: nVidia RSX @ 550MHz Xbox 360 GPU: ATi GPU @ 500MHz Real close. All depends on the architecture of the repsective chips for which is more powerful. 50MHz makes little difference especially considering ATi chips are almost always underclocked compared to nVidia chips. PS3 Memory/Memory Bandwidth: 256MB Rambus XDR main @ 3.2Ghz 256MB GDDR3 VRAM @ 700MHz / 48GB/s total Xbox 360 Memory/Memory Bandwidth: 512MB GDDR3 700MHz + 10MB embedded DRAM for GPU / 278.4GB/s total Need I say more?
Do you have a point? I'm entitled to prefer the Xbox. But thats beside the point. I will get whichever system looks to have the better games. With the power of the two systems darn close to each other it doesn't really make a difference to me. What I don't like is the fanboyism you've been exhibiting by putting down anyone who seems to prefer the Xbox. Its a game console man, it doesn't matter if people don't like the one you do. |
