got there before me...

also, probably the main solo in Sweet Child o' Mine. Not the most technical (i couldn't play it... but never mind) But it really sounds good

A lot of Jimi Hendrix's solos are amazing. I can't think of the song titles right now though. I'm pretty sure Machine Gun had a really good one.

Jimmy Page's are also awsome (Led Zeppelin.) Not that many in the recordings, but if you get the DVDs with the live performances there's some amazing stuff.

I don't know about the Best but my favorite has to be in In The Name Of God by Dream Theater. Mainly anything by Dream Theater has awesome instrumentals.

Ditto.. aswell as the solo in Home.

"Brave New World" and "Fear Of The Dark" by Iron Maiden both have a really good solo. "Morgue Of Centuries" by Disarmonia Mundi is also worth a listen because the solo sounds somewhat disorted and is definately unique. Almost all At Vance songs climax with a solo. Children Of Bodom can also be interesting. There's probably several hundreds more worth mentioning on my PC, but I'm NOT going to waste my time finding them. :P

Also, keep in mind that I don't care how "technical" or long a solo is, as long as it sounds good. :ermm:

Watching him play Stairway is pretty cool, but some of the other stuff is as good, if not better.
