I regard that as cheating. :P

Ah, as a previous ex-owner of alot of failing boards, I finally found one that is actually doing quite decent. One thing that I might think is the main factor of success is advertising. Simon had advertised my board EVERYWHERE, and I thank him for that. Also, my board offers unique ideas...

Well, publciity is the key :clown:

indeed it is.

oh! and making sure you spam skin test boards is good.

I think the idea is just to advertise anywhere to get a few members.

Care to talk about this, or any other issue in that matter?

Actually, no. :ermm:

This is spam. <____<[/cholor]

Alright lets set something straight here. This is not spam, quite the constrast really. But do you know what is spam? Yep your post. Now do you think there is any chance of you acting in a slightly less annoying and stupid manner?

I know I shouldn't be saying this... but, you didn't add anything to the topic either, you just bashed Flame FX...

I know what you're saying, and i echo GO's MSN point. Get some people you think are cool and talk with them, my forum isntt open yet, but Camo, Jazzy, Lime, Duality, Mysterious, and Linkman know and I have talked to about it. (granted, Linkman just guessed the URL but it's the essence of my point :P )

Its all about a creative idea. If your just making an RPG or Resource board your pretty much setting yourself up for failure. Otherwise its just a matter of keeping your members intrested and wanting to come back.

Some people post a lot and make fake accounts to make their board seem active.

Yeah, that seems to work amazingly well.. it can get you a crapload of members

Well, my board first started out because another got hacked, and I offered a refuge. People like me, so they stayed when the other forum reopened, and I got my opportunity to prove I can keep my members.

One IF board and a hack later, we have an IPB board and 40,000+ posts and almost 300 members.

It's all about being persistent and not giving up. You have to appeal to people and show then you have potential.

It's really hard to get a board started. You can't advertise anytype of boards that have anything to do with graphics here, and you can't pm advertise. But if you can't  pm advertise, how come so many people have this panda revolution thingy in there sig if they don't pm advertise here?

Apart from prospective Admins/Staff, who consented to being shown the link before i gave it, The panda revo has never needed (and will never need) to be PM advertised, on any board.

The thing that has put a smile on my face is that so many have taken the code from my sig and put it into theres, as well as many have spoken to me enquiring what the hell it is, all despite no-one involved giving out too much knowledge either way. ^_^

I'm glad people have that much faith in me personally, and 'we' hope to deliver what i can the best i can the best 'we' can.

Which takes me back to what i said about good marketing of course :)

So Panda Revolution is a forum...
