Clair,

I can see where this situation might be difficult, and it is one no person should have to make. However, if he is able to make decisions, I think it should be his choice. If he isn't in the right mind to make the decision I would survey the chances of his survival and life after the illness. If all seems glum and it is his wishes I would let him go peachefully. However if he has hope left, I would give him a chance.

Hope it goes well and I will be praying.

Hey Ghetto,

Thanks for that, he cant make this decision for himself as his mind isnt what it was. He has been decaying for a good while now and hes just getting worse and now hes lost his pulse in his legs and his toes gone black etc, there is nothing they can do and he is on borrowed time really. The Doctor has given him a week up to 2 months to live so its anytime now really. It wouldnt be fair to prolong the suffering :( he may have said when he was Ok in his mind about his wishes, I dont know but my Mum and Aunt have made the decision which they feel would be best, and it cant have been easy

Well if he only has 2 months I recommend letting him go naturally. Unless there is some possible way for him to survive longer and be revived to full health, I wouldn't do life support. Now if he has it in his will to be on life support that would be different but as it stands now, and I know I can't really know what you are feeling, but I would let him go naturally.

I really do hope you feel comfort with your final decision and that everything happens and passes with easy.

God bless.

Its not my decision to make Ghetto, its down to my Mum and Aunt who have made the decision :)

I was simply asking others what they would do in that position. He isnt in hospital hes in a nursing home :)

Luckily I seen this topic, I was going to make one on it. It is a very hard subject to talk about. But I do think that if someone has no feeling and is suffering, being kept alive by a machine because their body can't do it for them I think you should let them go rest in piece. My whole family believes this so thats maybe why i think it. But I think its only humain that you let them pass away other than keeping them in pain for the sake of a few more days of life.
