I mean no offense to the brits here, but it sounds like you guys are just jealous because America helped defeat Hitler. Whether you like it or not, America was a very large part in defeating Hitler. Sure, the Russians were the first to Berlin, after the Americans had severely damaged Hitler's forces in the Battle at the Bulge. Russia's forces were much too small to take on Hitler's forces in the West. England, though they held out for a while, would not have been able to defend against Hitler, much less invade all of Europe again, without American help. Stop being a bunch stuck-up ingrates and say, "thanks. - Quote:

Yep, you yanks really need to stop saying without you we would have been screwed. We did it ourselves once, why not again? i didnt think USA had much to do with the European war anyway- i thought they were more concentrated on Japan and it was Russia that basically ended the war by taking berlin.
D-Day landings? The largest invading force yet seen by man? Yeah, that took place in Europe. I'm sorry if I sounded disrespectful towards some of you, but I hate to see America get screwed over for helping people.
Bulge was a german counter attack. I wouldnt gloat on that too much. If you've seen the film (which is one of those thats actually historically correct) youl see that german panzer divisions ran out of fule. And couldnt support the front.
And americans screwed for helping people? If the Japanese hadnt bombed pearl harbour america with its 'isolationist' attitude wouldnt have even joined the war. It would have probably turned into a cold war with Nazi and Japanese on one side and americans on the other.

Pearl Harbor wasn't the only Axis assault on Americans. There was another attack prior to Peral Harbor that involved 8 German saboteurs bombing key industrial points in the U.S. And, if you've seen any documentaries on President Franklin Roosevelt, you would know that he was pushing America to go to the war in Europe.

What are you trying to say? That the American soldiers didn't fight hard? I'll have you know that more than half our troops in the Bulge were without winter clothing and food, and on top of that, they spent weeks inside of freezing cold foxholes. The victory at the Bulge completely broke the backbone of Hitler's army, giving him almost no chance of setting up good defensive/offensive troops.

Tell me where I saidYou were big headed
Please. Just shoot me in the head. Now.
I was speaking to Jamster and anyone else who said that all the Americans in here are taking all the credit for defeating Hitler. The quote from Jamster that I was referring to specifically:

- Quote:

What are you trying to say? That the American soldiers didn't fight hard? I'll have you know that more than half our troops in the Bulge were without winter clothing and food, and on top of that, they spent weeks inside of freezing cold foxholes. The victory at the Bulge completely broke the backbone of Hitler's army, giving him almost no chance of setting up good defensive/offensive troops. - Quote:

Mate, some people act like america was the only thing that won the war... just a bunch of big headed bull. We were doing just fine anyways... im not saying we didnt want you or anything but im saying you shouldnt be so big headed about it. Like simon said, if it wasnt for Japan you wouldnt have been part of the war...

I'm just as thankful for the British, Russian, and other forces that helped defeat Hitler's army.

We should also thank the Russians for their brave stand at Stalingrad, which took out a good chunk of Hitler's troops.

Notice how almost everyone said that it was a team effort.
Now, point out to me where I've been big-headed and said that Americans did everything in the war.
Was i talking to you? no so kiss my *** <_< - Quote:

If "you" doesn't refer to me, then who does "you" refer to? - Quote:

Lol? I said that it was a team effort how many times now? Dude, you seriously need to just chill out. You're totally flaming me for no reason. How many times am I going to have to say that it was a team effort? Was it not a team effort in your opinion? Let's stop being jealous that the Americans got some glory, ok?
Yeah Jamester just freaking chill....no need for flaming or anything. Thats all I have noticed from you is when someone says something that you don't like you get all high and mighty and try to flame them. So just chill.
I aint flaming. just like sheex said americans always have the sense of superiority and it just annoys me sometimes. sorry if i offended anyone in anyway, i do thank the Americans for helping and i know it was a team effort but sometimes you (you = americans) make it sound like you did all the hard work.
In some ways we did do alot of the work and others no.
