http://www.religioustolerance.org/buddhism.htm

k, I was just looking through some websites, and trying to figure out what paths I want to take in life, and I came across buddhism.

I really like the beliefs and their intentions, but it seems really hard to keep up with.

Is anyone/Does anyone know someone who is Buddist? Is it hard?

Oh yeah, I guess I should ask if anyone else is confused where they're going. I feel like I'm the only one.. heh..

I think one of my friends is a buddhist...he enjoys meditation and he doesn't eat anything that came from an animal.

See, the great thing about Buddhism is, because there is no central theological leadership for the religion, there can be many different interpretations. The basic principles are there, you are free to interpret them however you want.

If I had to choose to follow any of the world's major religions, it would be Buddhism.

Yep agreed. Buddhism is what a religion should be.

I've known a few Buddhists in my time. When I was younger one of my friends was Buddhist and we talked about it one time. It seemed really, really weird but I guess that was probably largley because he didn't know what he was talking about.

Something about a pink elephant leaving flowers on the ground whereever it walked. Anyways, yeah I hear they're all about enlightenment and stuff.

So aside from a few things, you can still do whatever you want, and that's why you like Buddhism, right?

LOL

I've actually considered becoming buddhist myself. I like the beleifs. I've read the wikipedia explanation of it.

Theres a temple.. or however you would call it (it used to be an old fast food restaurant) in my neighborhood, so I could maybe get some answers to questions I need asked.

I'm a Christian now, but I've had exposure to many different religions. I'm not against Buddhists or anything, but many people who are Buddhists know little about thier own religion.

With Christianity, I've got my church, youth group, etc. to help me out and to support me...

It sounds like something I would believe, but the thing is, I don't believe in religion (even as far as a centralized way of becoming educated [i.e. "enlightened"]) in the first place.

Buddhism is hard.

You do know if you want to be a full on buddhist you cant own anything. You have to wear a sort of robe.

My dad was thinking of becoming a buddhist.

I don't see why it's funny. I enjoy the concept of free will and free self-interpretation. I don't like having my spirituailty preached at me by a minister, priest, or whatever.
