Would it ever be possible, if I wanted to switch board(I don't, at the moment) to like a phpbb board, would there be a way of saving my invisionfree members, etc and transfuring it over?

You can only convert and transfer to/from an IPB board. I think.

yes you can but its will cost you to convert to IPB cuz its not easy for duffman to convert the database and extract it. You mind find free convert tools from IPB to PHPbb but i wouldnt trust most of them.

You would have to contact Duffman and ask for a conversion to IPB (I belive there is a small fee involed). Once you have converted your InvisionFree board over to IPB you would not to post a conversion on the IPB Main Boards and you'll get all your conversion information there. :)

I didn't know you can actually convert a board to another companies board, I wouldn't think that was allowed by the companies since it's competition between those companies, unless they wanted to provide better service to their customers.

I wouldn't really call it a "competition". If you look at the bottom part of InvisionFree you'll see the following line:
Quote:

Powered by Invision Power Board v1.3.0g © 2003 IPS, Inc.

In a way IPS owns InvisionFree. They are the ones who are powering this board. IPS & InvisionFree are not really at a competition, they kinda both work together since they the same in many ways.

I meant PHPbb, IPB, VB, all those board companies are in competition. I was thinking why would IPB allow customers to convert to another board company (such as PHPbb) if they are in competition? It wouldn't make sense would it. :/ It would make sense, however, if they wanted to provide better services to their customers.

IPS doesn't actually have an affiliation with IF. IF just uses IPB like many other board hosting services do.

IPB would have conversion tools so if someone from PHPbb came to them saying they wanted a IPB with that database they can have it
