You dont seem to get it, its Macromedia Fireworks, no adobe nothing, they hadnt combined yet, so the program is called Macromedia Fireworks 2004 pro, it has absolutly nothing to do with Adobe

Currently, the name is under Macromedia. But, flash will soon become Adobe Flash.

Yes I know it will but that virsion will never be Adobe fireworks

i used gimp when i was like 9, it was crap.

its basically Paint 2

Your ghey, I could whoop your *** with the gimp, its the only program I use :P

I'm sure I could point out a couple people that could kick your butt with Photoshop as well. Both are good programs. It's just your preference.

Personally, I prefer Photoshop CS1 > GIMP.

No its just King Batista is a lazy nub that cant take time to learn how to run a simple program <_<

sigh*, it's really the artist not the tools he uses that makes the art. If all of you who are bickering realized that, this topic wouldn't still be up.

Photoshop is my favorite, but for PixelArt the best free one is GraphicsGale, it's pretty nice.

It really all depends...

I use Photoshop for manips, vectors, sigs, buttons, etc..
Fireworks/Flash for all training clips and flash related items.

And I don't have the money to get C4D but that would be the industry standard for Rendering.

Apophysis and Terragen are good free rendering programs, one for fractacals and the other for landscapes, respectively.

That would depend on the type of renders also though. Industry standards for modeling and in use for video games and such is Maya and 3d max. Plus the prices for those programs are outrageous. I mean what is it 3 grand for 3d max, and 1k for a plugin? I mean come on.

For this I'd have to say Corel Draw and Adobe Photoshop are about a tie. Corel would have been better if it was bug-free and would work with a crappy graphics card...<_<

If you have money, Photoshop CS or 7. If you don't, Gimp. Corel Draw is more for those artsy types, with more realistic paints and... not much else.
