I run Unix servers and suchlike, but I don't run Linux at home because 9as much as i've fiddled), it isn't compatable with my WLAN. pitty. otherwise, I still hold the opinion that the Gimp can never get up to the standard of PS, it just isn't there.

Well, I don't know the specific question, but I'm having problems with partitioning. If I get some free time, I could go and write down what I'm trying to do and what it says, but my basic problem is partitioning.

Edit: Okay, I think I got it. I definatly like using this much more than Windows. ^_^

Just get Linux as a secondary OS or make WIndows the secondary. That way you can still use your Windows programs

Just use the "Guided Partitioning." It pretty much does everything itself.

@WildWog: When you install Ubuntu, do guided partitioning on your second harddrive, leave hte first one plugged up, and Ubuntu will install a boot loader for you to choose between it and Windows on bootup.

Something still may happen to your Windows installation so make sure to backup first.

That's what I did, but I had to resize a different partition first to give some free space. It only let me use 2.7 GB, though. Does that mean I should defrag or something?

Yes, always defrag a Windows partition before you resize it, or you may loose data
