Okay this isn't a huge problem but I thought I would ask anyway and see if anyone could help me out as it does get pretty annoying.. Everytime I switch my computer in my room on in the morning, it loads up completely fine and it shows that the internet connection is excellent and working fine, BUT, the internet isn't conecting and is not working. What I need to do is go downstairs and un-plug the DSL cable going into the telephone socket and plug it back in again, then itworks fine for the rest of the time. Then if I leave my computer for a long time and come back later at night it might do the same thing again so I need to un-plug and plug back in yet again, this happens every single day and just wondered if anybody else has had this problem and if anybody knows any simple solution for me

We're talking about network problems, not USB faults. |

It's been fine before this though, it's just started doing it not so long ago and it's definately not too far away, i was thinking it might be because of 2 other computers/laptops in the house are using the router aswell.. |

FlippinPhil Are they all always connected at the same time? And like are you downloading on all 3 of them...Could possibly just be conflicting or not enough bandwith to spread across the network or something like that(Best to wait for someone who has had this prob and fixed i think) 0.o |

Nope, there is my computer in my room, another computer in the downstairs room and my mums laptop that are all connected through wireless.. My mum never uses her internet on the laptiop though and the computer downstairs doesn't get used too much so I don't think that is the problem.. But I really don't know, I'm not an expert at these things >.<

Alright.. I have an idea. Try going to Start -> Run and type in command. Hit enter. When the screen comes up, type in 'ipconfig /renew'. If you don't get any errors, try to do that next time instead of unplugging and plugging back in. If that doesn't work, try 'ipconfig renew all'. If it does work, you could make a batch file out of it and put it in the startup folder. Not exactly the best way of getting around it, but if it works, it works. |
