That's a great idea Scott. But unplugging the thing from the wall isn't doing an ipconfig/renew, so it wouldn't help... :/

Alright.. I have an idea. Try going to Start -> Run and type in command. Hit enter. When the screen comes up, type in 'ipconfig /renew'. If you don't get any errors, try to do that next time instead of unplugging and plugging back in. If that doesn't work, try 'ipconfig renew all'. If it does work, you could make a batch file out of it and put it in the startup folder. Not exactly the best way of getting around it, but if it works, it works.

Thanks a lot Scott, next time on startup and it isn't connecting I will try that out :)

I heard you had to have SP2 installed to do that without Windows crashing. Is it true?

It happenes to me too, but only when the electricity goes out. Mabe you could try contacting your IPS and see what they tell you. It might be because you are using a wireless, but Im not sure.

Your connection dos not mean you are on the internet it means you are connected to the device that allows you to access the internet, from what I understand I would check for faulty cabels then call up your ispask them about your problem see if they have a souloution and or if you cna get a new dsl router even if it costs money it shouldnt be much.

Cheers,

Uhm.. I've done it on SP1 before. Maybe it is true, though. It might depend on the devices you have.

Okay, I woke up this morning and switched on my computer and the same thing happened like every morning, I tried the two things you suggested in here and they didn't work..

I un-plugged and plugged the cable from the router to the telephone socket again and it worked perfectly up until now yet again :/

I don't know what the problem could be, I think when I pull the cable and put it back in, it refreshes my router and the router is the problem somehow.
