Ah! Someone computer savvy please help me! All the program icons - on my desktop, start menu, everywhere - are messed up! They all turned into this one image, a white piece of paper with the topright corner folded, and a box inside it with a red dot, a blue dot, and a green dot. When I try to open them, it says "Windows cannot open this file: Whatever the file is.lnk To open this file, Windows needs to know what program created it. Windows can go online and look it up automatically, or you can manually select from a list of programs on your computer. What do you want to do?" Then there are two choices, 'Use the Web service to find the appropriate program' and 'Select the program from a list'. Choosing the first option brings up this page on the internet (This is the only way I can get on and the only program I can open) : http://shell.windows.com/fileassoc/0409/xm...dir.asp?Ext=lnk , while choosing the second option opens a window with some programs in it, and clicking any of them doesn't do anything. Can anyone help me? |

It's a corrupted program when it comes up that message from what I know of. With what you have said about your desktop etc. it sounds like a virus or somethign because that is not normal.. Run an online scan and check for spyware aswell and get back to us here. |

Well I have a few spyware adware virus destroyers on my computer, but I can't acces them either. Where can I find an online virus scan? All of them require IE, and all I can open is Firefox... |
