My look on it,to a certain point it can affect people.Music makes me feel hyped.I listen to slipknot or something like that when i am pissed, and it channels my anger into the music. As far as music being suicidal,yes...music does have stuff about suicide in it,BUT it is the people that kill themselves, not the music. And ive heard Nirvana being called music. The only reason why people say this is because the one guy killed himself.Big deal? You cant call something suicidal because it has been involved with it. |

Okay. So you voiced your opinion on something. Now what is the actual topic we're supposed to debate on? How music affects people? Whether Cobain commit suicide or was murdered? Whether it is fair or not to judge music and the effect it has on people based on things associated with it?

yes,we are talking about the how music affects people.I do not believe that because Cobain commited suicide was because of the music, because he was very popular. |

Yep I belive that music affects people... if you listen to dirty and sick (no offense) rap songs you'll probably become a sick and dirty person. Like it or not the music is going to somehow affect your brain and make you agree with what your listening... it's physicology... |

I don't listen to much "suicidal" or dark music, except Nirvana, and they don't make me feel depressed. A lot of teens are depressed, and a lot listen to Nirvana. If a teen kills himself/herself, you can't blame the music. |

We did a project on it, but drawing instead of killing yourself. It worked a little bit, gloomy music would create gloomier drawings, but it only worked on some people, AKA, the people that had feelings and thought and such. |

Of course it does. You listen to it, therefore you MUST agree with it or else you wouldn't like it. That why there are parental advisories, to warn parents whether or not they want their child influenced by it. And rap IMO is a HUGE influence, because nowadays it the cool thing to listen to. That isn't good considering what rap is mostly about (drugs sex drinking ect) |

So true :sigh: A lot of people that are in my school listen to rap all the time and they act like they are drunk. Literally, it is really sad, though they do this to themselves. I've never listened to rap, but I do listen to Mozart quite a lot, since my mom is a semi-scholar on Mozart. |

It doesnt have to be taken literrally. Artistic expression. If some grindcore bands talks about killing hundreds of people, and I like some grindcore bands, I'm not advocating murder. |
