I don't see why not? It's considered General Chat and they just wanted a question answered. What's so wrong about answering a question? Besides; one of BitTorent's useages is for Media.

Several genuine downloads can be made using BT. Certain internet-only programmes/anime/game demos and movie trailers being the most obvious.

The bit-torrent client is the future of safe internet downloading, not a pure p2p program, thus rendering your point worthless. Do your homework before making assumptions.
