I was watching a show on the history of the Muslim Brothers(orginators of all terrorism). From that group, a seperate group was formed, one that believed in a holy war, or Jihad. They believe that all western civilization is a poison to Islamic culture. So, when the british came in and changed Egypts culture, this group came in and killed many officials, and forced the king out as well. Now, Al Queda, is a branch of that group. They interpret Jihad as a holy war as well, and want to kill all westerners. America, being their #1 target. This lead to the strike at 9/11, which killed over 3000 people. Opinions? |

It's religious extremeism. Christians do it too, it's just not as public or as devastating as 9/11. As long as there is religon, there are extremeists. |

Agreed. Also, the reason for them thinking that the Western culture is a 'poison' is because we support Israel, the sworn-forever enemy of Islam. We also tried to 'command and conquer' lands with our religion. As 2shot said, as long as there is religion, there are extremists. i.e. Those who beat gays to death and hang them, or those who set fire to abortion centers or kill the doctors that run these centers. |

No, in the Qu'ran it says to be humble to every religion ... And yes, the USA does support Israel, but they also let Israel break lots of laws, but they just let them do it... Israel are suck ups to america.. just my opinion. |

-stares- Really. You have to be kidding. Please, tell me you were before my mind explodes. 9/11 was one of the most devestating events in Jihad, or holy war, as explained in the first post in this entire topic. It may have been on a much larger scale than suicide bombings or the like, but it was Jihad all the same. |

My only opinion on this is that these extremists are mentally ill. They've been fed doctrines of mass destruction to an even bigger degree than the Christian church forces it's doctrines down the collective throat of most of the western civilization. Now a fragment of the Islam (already the most violent culture in the world) has matured into an even more extreme form and seeks to annihilate everthing and everybody that does not agree with it's ideals from the face of the earth. Boasting an unrivaled sense of superiority and determined to achieve their goal, I'm pretty sure 50 years from now we'll regard these brainwashed fools the way our generation looks at nazi Germany. |

Well, if your source is a valid one I'll believe. Though I just watched a documentery on the leaders of 9/11 ![]() Not very many Muslims believe in the Jihad either, and there are two meanings for it as well. |

Yes, people say it was Jihad, but killing innocent people is not Jihad... Jihad is dying for God. |

NO. As long as there are OPINIONS, there will be extremists. Not religion in and of itself. |
