Well I always thought a gradient was one color fading to another color like this Posted Image

But anyways, not sure what you'd use those for and also not sure what you actually did (meaning if you made the brushes or if you just took a photo stock and changed the color) I like the second one better, I can tell you that much.

Ok, well I'm just taking a guess on saying you're just starting out, so you probably downloaded the brushes which is perfectly fine. Just keep practicing with the placements of them and put your own unique style to everything you make :) And I'll stick with the comments I've said above.
