For some reason, my system restore won't work. I'm trying to restore to about a week ago, but whatever time I try to restore to, it reboots telling me it didn't work.

Anything to fix this?

What OS are you using?

I used to have this on ME, and i could never work out how to fix it.

XP. I got AIM virus hijacked earlier today. And I wanted to do a restore anyway. I suppose the virus is stopping the restore, though I thought I had removed it.

Open up the task manager and see if there are any unusual processes running.

Usually a google search of 'Remove *insert name of virii here* sometimes give you a clear way to remove any traces of stubborn Viruses/Spyware/Microsoft applications that refuse to go away. It's worth a try anyway.

Try doing a Full System with a Anti Virus program. I virus might be preventing it to work correctly.

All viruses/spyware seem to be cleared, and yet it still isn't functional. And I've found as well that all my restore dates before August have been wiped out. I thought it kept more than a month and a half of dates.
