I used to live in silence, I used to sleep in silence. Now all I hear is a marching of soldiers in my head.

Linux is more efficient and is safer than Windows (part because so few people target it and part because of the way it works). The efficiency comes from the fact that Linux has a lot less of the bloat that Windows does and its design is much better.

The only real disadvantage of using Linux over Windows is gaming. Linux simply does not have the support that Windows does. For basically everything else there is a Linux equivalent thats as good if not better, and usually free. If not the Wine emulator can run a lot of Windows programs.

Yeah, the second desktop I put together with spare parts from upgrading my other desktop. Laptop #1 is to replace #2 which can't even run some of the programs I need for school. And the #2 laptop is now suffering from drill bit through the hard drive besides.
