Is there a way that I can have member ranks without it relying on post count? I'm making a Harry Potter site and I want to have a "pip" mark for each year, which won't rely on post count. Is this possible? Thanks! Miranda |

One way of doing this is to set up a user group, you can then upload a new badge and assign it to that group. Members can be added to that group under whatever criteria you chose. You can even give them access to forums which are restricted to basic members. In admin CP; Go to user title/ranks 'add a new rank (eg;Muggle, Wizard, Order of the Phoenix) Leave min number of posts needed blank. Leave number of pips 'none' Add new pip. You can add an image from your comp for this, a small badge is always good. Go to manage user groups. Set up new group. Member forum mask. Group Icon. (your new badge should be in here) Choose 'Don't Promote' to disable promotions. Now you have a new members group with a badge which isn't based on post count.
