I agree that the first is too big, and I'm also not a fan of the colours either. The text would look better if it wasn't as blurry, and was instead sharper. The second is a fairly nice, simple concept, and I think with the correct text it would be perfectly suitable as a button.

Keep practicing though Niv. :)

I agree with Steve but also believe the first button could do without the line through the left end of the piece. The first one doesn't seem absolutely terrible but the border color could definitely be toned down to match the contents, as well as the inner glow being shortened to 1px (or diminishing the opacity). Keep working at it, though.
