We don't really get earthquakes in this area (Florida), but we do get hurricanes. =/

There was a small earthquake type thing in the Gulf a couple of years ago, and I did feel that a bit. :P

I've been in an earthquake simulator (I forget which museum...maybe Oregon Museum of Science and Industry?), but other than that, no earthquake for me. But there have been a few that were a couple hours away that we could feel, but that's probably as close as I'd want to be to one...this coming from someone who once was in the middle of a lake during a thunderstorm...go figure.

But yeah, I'm from upstate New York, so snow is our specialty.

I live in Washington... the only natural disasters we sometimes get are floods and avalanches... lol.

We have had one or two earthquakes before that I remember... the most vivid one is when I got woken up in the middle of the night and I think my bed got broken. lol.

There are never earthquakes over here in NJ, and I'm quite sure I never want to experience one. The east cost is a great place to live for the simple reason that there is rarely any severe weather. At least in the North East. You poor people in California though... you guys get regular earthquakes. I would never live in California :P

Earthquakes are honestly not that bad until it gets to 7.0+ range. Most Earthquakes in Cali aren't higher than 6.5.

I had have one customer though who I believe said she was from Missouri or somewhere in the midwest where they don't get quakes

Maybe she is from the north western side, b/c if you live anywhere near the east side there are hundreds of earthquakes a year, considering that is where the New Madrid fault line lies. I use to live dead center of that in Arkansas, and it wasn't unusual to feel the house shaking a lot lol So yes, i've been through hundreds, just not big enough to make the news.

Not everyone that lives near the east coast has a basement. <_<

No, I've never been through one. I've only been though bad wind storms. Nothing more. ^_^
