Dear Invision free support, I'm currently the leader of a guild in an online RPG named Exodus. Unfortunately I entrusted the stewardship of our forums to another member. He was particularly good with managing forums and as such I allowed him to be the root admin. Recently he went emo and deleted the forums. It was an important guild resource and had over a hundred members. The IP was: http://z4.invisionfree.com/exodus So here's what I'm wondering: 1. Is there any way to recover the forums with myself as root admin? 2. If not, can you clear that forum name out of the database because I was unable to create a new forum with "Exodus" as the name. |

Sorry, but member #1 is considered the owner of the board. We are not currently processing board restorations; if we were, we would only restore a board at the request of member #1. I don't have the ability to remove the name from the database; the only person who might be able to do that is Brandon. Unfortunately, this isn't very likely to happen. Instead, I recommend that you choose a different name. |

If I can get #1 to assent and request it, would there be a chance of getting a board restoration? And what would be the timeframe on this? You said that you weren't currently processing these restorations. |

Board restorations (including restorations of Member #1 accounts) are still on hold indefinitely. Once they resume, your request may be processed. But was it originally yours, and did you give the account willingly? As Ben said, it's against the owner's permissions, so it might not be processed. Edited by cvn-tv-dip, Sep 8 2008, 09:11 PM.

It was never mine. So it sounds like a board restoration is not a viable option. Clearing database of the name since it's deleted? Any way to contact Brandon? |

You can create a board of your own and use it to send a support ticket. You can explain the issue and what you want to request there. |

You can try opening a support ticket, but there's a couple of factors that make this unlikely:
I wish I could give you better news. :-/ But I don't want to raise your hopes only to dash them when you send in a ticket. |
