I didn't see a topic on this yet, so I decided to start a topic on it. What do you think of iTunes 8.0? Do you like the new views? Do you like Genius? I love iTunes 8.0, it's a great upgrade from 7. |

I love the Genius sidebar, and once I get more money in my iTunes account, I'll probably be using it alot. Everything is awesome about it, apart from how slow it makes my computer sometimes. o_O |

You don't have to pay to use the Genius feature. I'd say only about 30% of my music is legit and it still works. I like it a lot btw. The Grid View looks very nice and the Genius thing didn't really appeal to me right away, but now it's growing on me. |

i think it's a great upgrade from 7. the new grid view looks very hawt, and i love the genius feature. i like that you can make playlists from the music you have, and that it gives you recommendations. one thing i don't like about Genius though is that they show all the prices and the option to buy stuff in the sidebar, i wish they'd just show the name of the song/album/artist and the preview option, along with being able to click the song to go to it in the iTunes store. |

Yeah, I love the new Grid view. It's actually my default view now, it's just so appealing and I am so glad the previous viewing method was taken off, it was horrible. Genius is alright I guess. Seeing as I have ... *goes to check* just over 1500 songs, its not a whole lot to match up but I enjoy using it nonetheless. I wouldn't say I'd buy the recommendations, I'd simply listen to the preview and head over to a torrent site. ![]() Has anyone noticed how the 'Go to iTunes' links in songs is there permanently now? There's no option to change it. |

Nope, I hate it too. Though I must say it's a huge improvement. Finally it's easy to browse albums and artists, though it was before, it is more streamlined and easier for the average user. I use Winamp but this will make it easier when I have to use it for my iPod. |

Genius is not only good because of the fact it works well, but it's also going to make apple a heckload more money. |

If you have software 2.1 for your touch, it integrates with the touch. |

Grid view after altering the itunes.db file to hide iTunes Store Arrow Links and Genre in the Browser [both in list mode] tends to crash my iTunes after trying to play a song.. |

I can't use Genius because I don't have an apple account and you need a credit card to register... |

I tried to get genius to work with my September 2nd leak of Metallica's Death Magnetic and it didn't work. Then I tried to see if it would work with my genuine September 12th edition of Metallica's Death Magnetic, which also didn't work. Additionally, iTunes also didn't find or input artwork for the same album on September 12th. It did, however, work with my iTunes-purchased Jesu and Neurosis albums. I either download illegally or buy actual CDs, so I don't often buy music from iTunes, and thus most of it doesn't work. Probably as low as ten percent works. I know Apple will improve it in the future, so all hope isn't lost.

@ To Sirius: That doesn't make any sense. Only like 30% (tops) of my music is purchased legally, but Genius works with all of my music. |
