Hey, I've been running a board for a number of years now

Over the years, I used to keep an open registration where you had to provide a valid Email to register.
Lately (closer to the past 6mo to year), I've had it where now daily, I have at least 4 or 5 users per day register that are all bogus SPAM users. I have to manually approve or delete, otherwise the board would be overfilled with SPAMMERS.

Is there a way to prevent these BOTS from trying to register to my board? A lot of these accounts are definately SPAM based on the domain they're residing from, and I have no idea how they found the board since, although it's public, it's kind of hard to find. I hate to manually check each account because there are times when I am not available for long periods that normal users want to register, but get denied due to the long time between approval/denial of registration.

Also second issue:

On the indivudal forums in the main forum, it seems to be only set to show the threads in the past 60-days. Is there a way to have them display the threads since Day-1 by default? When some threads haven't been accessed in many months, it makes the sub-forum look very dull, and some older topics go unnoticed after that time.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

For your second query, ACP>Manage Forums>*Forum Name*>Default date cut off for topic display
Set this to "show all."

You're dealing with spambots and you just got to find ways to deal with them. They find your board through search engines, such as Google. Completely blocking them from registering on your board is not possible with the limitations InvisionFree has. However, ZetaBoard forums have been said to receive no spambots, due to the security measures Brandon took when he developed the software.

As for your second question:

Thanks for the 2nd answer... I knew it was simple, but I was looking in the most absurd spots for days & days... I don't know how in the world I overlooked that. I appreciate the answer.

I'll have to check into the ZetaBoard as a viable option... it's been awhile since I worked on my board, and it needs a good overhaul.
