Recently I've been having problems with my mac laptop. It's got this aluminum (i think?) casing, instead of plastic, and it doesn't deal with heat as well. I can't use it on my bed for more than 15 minutes without the bottom becoming superhot, which i expected would happen, but i'm having the same problem when i just put it on the desk. it's gotten to the point where i have to put it on a little computer stand and keep a small fan on it when i'm doing more than one thing on it. this also kills the battery life, like, permanently. i may have to get a new battery soon.

anyone else have this problem with their laptop? any suggestions to help?

The MacBook Pro is known to do that, I'd recommend getting a cooling pad for under the laptop and seeing if that helps. This website will help you. http://www.macinstruct.com/node/198 I asked my friend (a apple specialist) and he recommended taking it into a local Apple store or just calling Apple.

A cooling fan pad or even an external fan would work well. With the external fan though, the only problem that arises is you cannot really move the laptop around much, as it has to stay in line with the fan. However, I think a laptop table with a fan would work well.

I had the same problem so I just went out and got a cooling pad. I haven't had problems since. ;)
