tonight after midnight, i received a nice update of FF3.0 as soon as i installed it, wham!..my CPU meter showed an unusual reading of more memory capacity than before i got the new update. iam bent on saving my comp's resources so this is big news to me. this latest update fixes some known bugs..the best thing is, now it allows the comp to use less resources..any un used resources would be basically recycled back into the comp..pages and other functions now run faster. im so stoked :w00t: details here |

I installed it like 2 and a half weeks ago. It seems just as fast as 3.0.1 and 3.0, really. I only update them because it's smart to update anything when an update for it comes out. |

I really didn't notice any change. It might be because my computer has pretty high resources, so it doesn't impact how my computer works. Well it's still nice to get security fixes

That's when the last "build" came out. Usually the last build is the exact same as the final release, hence why I said I already got it 2 weeks ago. |

Glad to hear that they're still updating regularly. I love Firefox, but I haven't gotten around to updating Firefox from my 2.2. I'm simply stuck on Firefox 2.2 because it's so easy to use. It's also very fast which I love. ![]() I guess I'll be updating to 3 soon though. |

You should. It's faster and safer than 2.2

Which is hard to believe because version two was already much faster than IE

I suppose you're right. Although I don't really need all that much security on my browsers. I don't use Paypal, or any other form of banking. I don't normally use cookies either, so I usually don't have an issue. Hard to believe it's faster though, 2.2 is quite fast. |

Firefox 2: Zoom! Firefox 3: *goes deaf from sonic boom* Google Chrome: *only sees a flash of light* Firefox 3 also has less memory leaks and uses a lot less memory than 2. On my computer it uses on average 200 MB less RAM. |

Firefox > Chrome. ![]() Anyways, The Sentinel, how much memory do you have that you're worried about a slight increase in firefox memory consumption? I know firefox has had mem issues in the past, but the have been mostly resolved as far as I know. |

My point was, Chrome is extremely fast in Javascript and rendering. I know Firefox is superior in every other way (including the rendering quality). Also, I got an update a few hours ago. Firefox 3.0.3.
