It's definitely not a mark, and I've switched the screen off and on, again, and I only got this laptop a few weeks ago.

I can't actually actually ****ing believe this has happened. Cheap bastards. Posted Image What the hell could have caused this? :'(

It should still be under warranty, call for a replacement.

You're complaining that just one pixel on your laptop isn't working?

Yes.

The sentinel, taking a screenshot wouldn't work as it's a problem of the monitor, not the computer. Just take a screenshot and draw a random black pixel somewhere.

I know it's only one pixel but I bought this so recently, it's so annoying.

don't get too angry. dead pixels happen all the time, even on the best quality notebooks (like macbooks). just remember that on a 1280 x 800 screen there are over a million pixels so the chances of just one being damaged is pretty high

I've had it happen a few times to my laptop. They always just replaced the screen for me and I didn't lose anything on my harddrive. That's with Acer's repair service though, I'm not sure about Toshiba, but if you have a warranty I couldn't see them giving you any problems with replacing it. :P

Toshibas are good, so don't worry.

Steer clear of Acers though, seen plenty of complaints on the old ZB support site about them.

It has been mentioned many times: If you have a warranty, send your laptop back and they will fix it.

I don't know whether it's worth the trouble of sending it for repairs - I forget about it most of the time. :-/
