I don't know whether it's worth the trouble of sending it for repairs - I forget about it most of the time. :-/

It's a shame I've got all my downloaded programs, bookmarks, pictures, internet installed etc. already on this.

It's a real ****ing shame. :(
Do you have another computer at all? If so, just temporarily transfer the files over to that. If not, just buy like a flash drive or something (I've seen 8GB flash drives for a cheap as $35) and back up your files that way.

taking a screenshot wouldn't work as it's a problem of the monitor, not the computer. Just take a screenshot and draw a random black pixel somewhere.

It's a hardware problem, not a software one.

Take a picture of the monitor with a camera, even though you may not get a good quality image

Without crystal clear image quality, a picture would be useless. Even the slightest movement or flicker could blur the single missing pixel.

Why would you even wanna see a picture of it? It's just a random black pixel.

Thanks for the link, Daffy, but it's a dead pixel, not a stuck one. :)
