So next Tuesday Apple is going to be having another event, but this time they'll be unveiling the new notebooks.![]() The new stuff that has been leaked looks really nice. As seen in the picture below, it appears that the MacBook Pros will also have all of their ports, as well as the optical drive, on the left side like the current MacBooks do. ![]() There's also been a rumor going around about a new way that they manufacture these laptops in that they can carve the shape of it out of one block of aluminum. This would mean that there are no screws holding the machine together. It hasn't been confirmed and there are really no pictures, but it'll be cool to see. So I'm thinking that the whole MacBook line is going to be all aluminum. It sucks because I already have one, but I'm still looking forward to seeing the new stuff. |

Wow, this was quick. I expected Macbook updates in 2009. Ah well, guess I wasn't quick enough to get myself a shiny, white Macbook! ![]() I just hope that either the performance has improved, with the same price tags. However, price drops with the same performance would be nice.

I would love an $800 MacBook. With the economy and all, it is just what needs to happen, but I highly doubt it. |

It wouldn't be too bad to get a smaller laptop for $800. I need to be thinking about getting a desktop though too. |

apple recently changed its manufacturing methods to reduce build costs significantly. there's no reason why they can't pass at least some of that saving onto the consumer. |

:o :o :o Which would mean (at this current time) it would cost roughly £470 for UK consumers. Knowing Apple, they'd probably raise that to a selfish £499, but oh my goodness - that would be a dream come true.

I'm sort of happy and disappointed with that picture. The trackpad is larger, which is a good thing. There is a magnetic latch, that's a good thing. The keys are chicklet-style, which is also a good thing. The display is glass, NO NO NO! I really hope that Apple has a matte option somewhere. Glass is just too glossy, and for a professional market, there should be a matte option. Some people will be working on important projects outside, and if the sun makes a glare on the display, it's going to be really hard to work. |
