Totally agree with you. I love the look and style of the old MacBooks more than the MacBook Pros, so the fact that they're making them all like that is nice. I also hate the glossy screen option. I really hope they keep the matte option available too.

If glossy is the only option, I really hope that some company makes a matte screen protector for the MacBook Pro like how they did with the iPhone and iPod Touch...

So the MacBooks were announced. All of the MacBooks (Pros included) look the same. The trackpad is bigger has the multi-touch features (and there's no button :O ). There is no matte finish, which is probably the only down side other than the fact that there were no price changes.

The MacBook Air also got a bit of an upgrade too. The hard drive is now 120GB (and the solid state hard drive went up to 128GB) and their 4x faster. The prices, here, are also still the same.

They look quite nice in my opinion. Although the gloss of the iMac really annoys me when the sun is out. Have they released any prices yet?

gotta love how the price drops mean we pay £20 more for the plastic version, and the entry-level alu macbook is £949. somehow i don't think it's going to be too popular.

The screen makes it look like a tablet laptop, even though it isn't. I dislike the use of black on it, it just makes it seem less authentic, in a manner of speaking.

I wish that they could make them a tad bit more customizable. When are these being released?

The new laptops are almost perfect...but...No matte option? BAD! No Firewire on MacBooks? BAD! No Firewire 400 on MacBook Pros? BAD! No MacBook Pro 17'' Update? BAD! That's all I have to say...

I absolutely love the new Macbooks. All my reasons are based on the features from the Apple website. My only disappoint is of course: THE PRICE!

Never again will I trust rumours about price drops. :P

Cheapest Macbook is now £719 from £699, and that's not even the new one. Still, I suppose once you save up and buy one of the new aluminium MB's, it's going to last you a GOOD amount of years.

would it be better than my failtop? I call it a failtop lol because it has so many problems. #1: bluescreens...finally got rid of them. Had to disable some internet hardware configuration. #2: My windows updater and other updaters stopped working. Been working with Windows Vista for weeks on this. I have the 4 GB Windows Vista Home Premium made by Gateway. All right but the new apple notebooks look like the be better than this.

Or you could just get a white version. I personally love the black one though.

Hm, I must have missed that then. :D Either that, or I simply didn't bother with it when I was looking at the options. Either way, thanks for that info. :)

As far as price, I've always seen Apple software as pricey, but in the end, I don't think too much of it because the software has less security flaws than Windows.
