Plugged in power and sound cord? What exactly is the problem? Will they not turn on? Will they turn, but not emit any sound? |

They just won't emit any sound. And there was no installation CD. |

Do you have sound without the speakers? Are you sure you have them plugged in correctly? |

No, the speakers are the only source of sound. And yes. |

So your laptop has no inbuilt speakers? Are you sure your soundcard drivers are working correctly? |

Are you on Vista / XP? Sometimes it's weird and switches them.. thus what should come out of your monitor (if it has speakers) and what should come out of your custom speakers get switched around; and the background music comes out of the wrong set. If you have a Driver for your sound card you should be able to switch the outputs and see if that does it. Edited by Chris, Oct 10 2008, 05:58 PM.

I get stuck at #3 - centring the balance. Where do I find that, here? And on the window on the right, I don't know which one to select. :-/ Edited by Phlip, Oct 11 2008, 06:30 AM.

I believe the balance means the selector with L & R. That means you should move the indicator thingy to the center. And for the other window, select everything that has to do with a speaker (in other words: everything except the top 3). Edited by FinalKiller0, Oct 11 2008, 04:05 PM.

And if you bothered to google "computer speakers balance", the first result would have been this, which indicates in the first sentence what balance is. That is odd, considering that they use check boxes, which means that you should be able to check more than one box. Try front speakers. |

That link was for Mac. Anyway - YES they work. They rock. B-) But there's some serious distortion in the background.
