I don't believe ZetaBoards has a particular wrapper you can place meta tags in. It's been said that when you submit your board to the board directory, the keyword tag is used.

Google doesn't rely on meta tags as much as some other search engines do. Google mainly relies on meta tags to block access to pages and crawl pages more accurately.

You should see Google's webmaster guidelines for tips and information on improving your search engine ranks.

a few years back the forum I work on went through and added some meta tags and bits of key word optimization, but only a few. The fewer keywords the more relevant the ones you do have are to google. It took a while but now if you search on google for the topic we focus on+forum we are second only to the official website. Pretty good for a fan-forum.

So if done properly optimization can work wonders for your site.

Hmm - that sounds awesome. If there is no metatag area on Zetaboards is it somehow embedded?
