Yahoo could definitely be a problem. With FF2, using the Yahoo site would crash FF for me everytime. It was an issue complained about on the Mozilla boards quite often.

This FAQ will show you how to do a clean re-install of FireFox 3

http://www.dslreports.com/faq/15980

If you have questions about doing it, you can get really fast help in the Mozilla forum there:

Thanks for the link.

I've had Yahoo since before I started using FF when I was using FF1. Maybe I could just wait until the problem is fixed by FF, eh? :) I'm sure they're working on it?

They don't seem to be.....I was forced to use IE to do my yahoo stuff when I was using FF2. On FF3, I haven't had the same problem....only a small cookie issue with the new yahoo version that was resolved quickly.

If you notice that it is actually the Yahoo site that crashes your browser, I would write to the Yahoo support people....they got back to me really fast with troubleshooting suggestions.

If I just unbookmark Yahoo from FF, would that solve the problem?

No, because having a site bookmarked doesn't necessarily load the web page. It just creates a link to it so it can be accessed quickly and not be forgotten. If Yahoo is in fact the issue, then not going to Yahoo in Firefox would do the trick, but you don't really want to do that. When Firefox does crash, is Yahoo a site that you have open?

No. It's usually just another site.

Does it happen every time you go to that particular site(s)? There may be something on there [flash videos, javascript, etc] that FF doesn't like.

If this is the case, then Yahoo is not the culprit. A web site can't crash a browser if it's not being loaded into that browser. As the above user asked, is there another site you visit frequently that causes the browser to crash? When it crashes, what web sites do you have open and did you ever go along with the reinstall of Firefox?

It's been this website, and I haven't reinstalled FF, yet.

Firefox 3.0 is a real hunk in terms of memory. I used Mozilla Seamonkey before I put on Firefox 3.0, and it makes Firefox's loading times seem really slow.

SeaMonkey is the same is Mozilla Suite and Netscape. Firefox 1.x was truly the only version that was Netscape it seems.

Edit: You can also look on Mozilla's website to find other browsers based off of Netscape technology.
