This is a real random topic I am just curious if anyone has tried these yet. I stock them all the time at work and I also wonder if they are any good. I am too afraid to try one because I already have a fast heart beat and I don't want to die because I drank one. lol What do you guys think of them? |

I take it this is some sort of energy drink? If so I would recommend that you use them in moderation. For me it was really easy to become dependant on Red Bull, and I would end up drinking a can every time I went in for my shift at work. Whether or not it worked, it's probably not the healthiest thing I could have been ingesting. |

I've never tried a Java Monster, but I assume the taste is much like that of your average coffee-flavored energy drink. I personally don't like coffee, so I probably wouldn't try it anyways. I work at BigLots and an energy drink has been eying me lately. The energy drink, Joker, to be precise. I bought one today, and it was a lot better than the guava-flavored energy drink; Rockstar. If you like coffee and energy drinks, you should give it a whirl (Monster is a well-known energy drink after all). Only you can depict the true taste. Try to avoid energy drinks if you have heart problems, though. |

You wont. Also, the heart beats at a rate that should feel "fast" to yourself. If you really think it's an issue you should go to your doctor, but I'm willing to bet unless you've been diagnosed it's fine. I used to think all the time my heart was racing so fast that I was going to have a heart attack until they actually tested it while I felt like it was about to pound out of my chest and it was so low above normal you would never know I felt so strongly about it. |

Gonna argue that. My 30 yr old friend had a heart attack. It was blamed on her over use of Red bull and energy drinks and she did not have a weak heart. One won't kill ya but if you over use, watch out |

Off the top of my head the only ingredient in Red Bull that can affect a normal heart is caffeine. 1 Red Bull < 1 coffee in terms of caffeine. A large mug of black tea will even have almost as much caffeine as a Red Bull. |

Reports of elevated stroke and heart attack risk On August 15, 2008, researchers from the Cardiovascular Research Centre at the Royal Adelaide Hospital reported that just one can of Red Bull can increase the risk of heart attack or stroke, even in young people: "One hour after they drank Red Bull, [their blood systems] were no longer normal. They were abnormal like we would expect in a patient with cardiovascular disease." Lead Researcher Scott Willoughby added that Red Bull "could be deadly when combined with stress or high blood pressure, impairing proper blood vessel function and possibly lifting the risk of blood clotting.[22] Red Bull Australia spokesperson Linda Rychter responded that the report would be studied by the company, but added that the effects reported were no different to those experienced by drinkers of a single cup of coffee. I avoid using energy drinks. They are simply not good for you in my opinion. |
