If I work in another country for a company based in the U.S., do I still have to pay U.S. income taxes?

Well, I'm not a tax expert, but as long as you're a US citizen you generally have to file a tax return. There are some special rules for foreign income, but just earning the money out of the country doesn't mean you get to keep it tax free I believe.
