Awesomesauce and pure ownage. If the presidential election was Mortal Kombat, McCain's spine and/or heart would have been separated from the rest of his body. To be honest, I'm not surprised; however, watching the CNN site I was surprised that he actually won Virginia. It was basically all over when he won Ohio; no Republican has won the presidency without Ohio, from what I've read. Edited by Fission, Nov 5 2008, 12:10 AM.

I still would've preferred Clinton, but no matter. I'm not expecting revolutionary change, but the fact that the world will be a significantly safer place for the next four years is absolutely fantastic news. |

So it's decided for good? I wasn't really involved with the political issues, but I'll just say that Obama may have the potential to bring in significant changes, at least now that Democrats hold the government. |

I'm not one to really get into politics, but it'll be interesting to see what happens in the next few years with the Democrats controlling the Legislative and Executive branches. Just like the Republicans in 2004, the Democrats will have no one to blame but themselves if anything else goes wrong, and by the same token, no one can really take the credit but the Democrats if things go well. [sarcasm]I'm sure I'll miss all the political ads and coverage though, it just won't feel right to go some time without them.[/sarcasm] |

Perhaps one of the things I am most pleased with is the decisive victory, and the gracious way in which John McCain conceded his loss. Uniting on this night was very important for the nation. Tomorrow there is no election campaign. Tomorrow the focus will look to the future and the direction Obama will take the country. For some that is a fearful concept, and they are welcome to that view. But even more are excited to see whether he will hold true to what has been sound during these long months. Personally I am extremely curious to hear who he will select as members of his cabinet. I do not recall at what point that announcement usually falls, but it will be intriguing. I presume it will be a notably bipartisan one, which, I hope would put to ease some who question Obama. |

What no ecstatic 'WOOT' noises issuing from Stephen? ![]() Personally I prefer the Democratic ideals waay more than the Republican's. Locke was telling me about a few of their policies last night, and I am so glad we don't have to live under some of those here in the UK. Thus, from my viewpoint, the American public has picked the best candidate. At least I won't have to watch any more videos or read any more articles from Stephen and Locke

I watched the votings all day and I jumped off the couch when a commercial ended and 3 minutes after the polls closed here on the west coast, when the commercial ended, the first thing I saw was "Obama, elected 44th President of the United States of America" I was so happy. It proved to me that Americans aren't as retarded as I was lead to believe with the re-election of Bush |

Congratulations Obama and Biden, I'm interested in seeing over the next four years if the two can deliver on the promises they made, or if they've just been blowing hot air.... |
