I'm only curious as mine are rather straight to the point and not all that creative. Often not moving much beyond a simple, "you single?" Doesn't matter your gender, lets hear you best and worst.

I don't chat people up, therefore I have none.
I've never been at all interested in any guy who has used them on me, and never will. No offence intended to other users, but I honestly think they're pathetic. If you like someone, you don't need a chat up line. Being yourself is far more attractive than some manufactured line that really only makes a girl feel less than special. To me, it comes across as desperate. Any girl who goes wild over a chat up line is probably just as desperate :P

Haha fair enough - I wondered if there were a few ladies here who would have the very same view as you Nicola. :) My current partner and I got together through something unspoken and mutual, and although I "asked her out" it was only a formality and we were already technically dating at the time. Now live together and have lots of rats/guinea pig/hamster/Gerbil(Jaboo) babies. :D

What would you say is the best way to let the opposite sex know about your feelings for them? Girls, how do you like to be approached?

Interesting. I took your post to mean you were looking for stories about people calling those sex chat lines and was going to lock it until I saw Nicola's post.

Another example of words having hugely different meanings depending on location.

Quantum-locked when observed.

I'm sorry, I'm confused. Are you implying that you actually talk to people who are not on the other side of a computer screen? That way lies madness.

I know two ways that really isn't.

1. Via text message. Further harassing text messages when you don't instantly reply make it worse.
2. A loud, drunken outburst from an obnoxious sex addict who smokes like a chimney and swears like a sailor... after he tells you he hates your guts. Confusing, eh?

Being inappropriately groped in a club by someone drunk and desperate while you're only there to celebrate your friend's birthday isn't fun either.

Sorry. Maybe I'll add something positive to this topic when guys are decent toward me, can't say I've had any good experiences when it comes to guys talking to you in that way. Of course my guy friends are nice to me (they're immature and gross at times, but :p ), but thats because we're just friends. Yes, I know that girls are just the same to guys at times. Neither gender is infallible.

@Ben: You make me laugh ^_^
