So far, nothing big has happened. But some notable things.

The Red Sox have exercised Tim Wakefield's option. In 2008, he was 10-11 with a 4.13 ERA. He pitched in 181 innings in 30 starts, and had a WHIP of 1.18 (6th in AL). He had the 2nd most quality starts (18) for the Red Sox, only behind Jon Lester (20). He was also very consistent for a few months, often going 7+ innings in his starts.

The Mets picked up Delgado's $12 million option as well. In 2008, he hit .271/.353/.518, 38 home runs (3rd in NL), and knocked in 115 runs (5th in NL)

Mike Jacobs was traded to the Royals for Leo Nunez. Jacobs will be the Royals' starting 1st baseman in 2009.

The Rangers have 3 young catchers and are considering trading one of them for pitching. The Red Sox and Marlins seem to have the most interest. The catchers are Taylor Teagarden (.319 BA, 6 home runs and 17 RBI in 16 games), Gerald Laird (.276 BA, 41 RBI in 95 games), and Jarrod Saltalamacchia (.253 BA and 26 RBI in 61 games). They'll likely want young pitching in return (such as Clay Buchholz or Michael Bowden).

The Padres are likely to trade Jake Peavy away. The Cubs seem to be ahead in the Peavy sweepstakes.

The Red Sox are considering trading Lugo and Crisp.

The Padres picked up on Brian Giles' $9MM option for 2009. In 2008, he hit .306/.398/.456 and knocked in 63 runs in 653 plate appearances.

The Rangers picked up on Hank Blalock's $6.2MM option for '09.

The Rockies are considering trading Matt Holliday and Garrett Atkins.

Some of the biggest free agents on the market:

Mark Teixeira
Francisco Rodriguez (Although, he really isn't that good. He's probably the most overrated free agent. He isn't even that good of a closer, either.)
Adam Dunn
C.C. Sabathia
Ben Sheets
Derek Lowe
Oliver Perez
Orlando Hudson
Damaso Marte
Kerry Wood
Mark Prior (Extremely talented, but has bad pitching mechanics, which has resulted in a lot of injuries. He hasn't pitched in the majors since 2006.)
Bobby Abreu
Mike Mussina
Garret Anderson
Milton Bradley
Rafael Furcal
Jon Garland
Jason Giambi
