Joe Paterno's dreams for another title (at least this season) are pretty much over. Iowa just beat the Nittany Lions 24-23 on a field goal with 6 seconds left. The fans rushed on the field when there was still 1 second left (just like the Texas-TTU game!), resulting in a penalty and the kickoff from the Iowa 15. But Penn State never really had a chance to make anything happen, as it was fumbled and an Iowa player recovered the ball. Before the field goal, PSU was in Iowa territory with a 2-point lead and appeared to be ready to put the game away. But a Darryl Clark pass was intercepted by Tyler Sash. Iowa managed nothing on the first two plays, but then PSU shot themselves in the toe by committing a pass interference penalty on 3rd down. With the win, Iowa is now 6-4 and likely headed for a bowl. Shonn Greene also had another solid performance, rushing for 117 yards and 2 touchdowns. He has rushed for 100+ yards in every game he's played. The performance may get him some serious consideration for the Heisman. What a great game. Some other games: Michigan upset Minnesota 29-6 in the Metrodome. This was the last Michigan-Minnesota game to be played in the Metrodome. Michigan dominated Minnesota at the Dome, along with OSU. This is Michigan's 3rd consecutive win against the Gophers, and the 29th in the last 31 meeting, and the 12th straight win for Michigan at the Dome. #19 UNC beat #20 Georgia Tech 28-7 to improve to 7-2 are probably going to a bowl game. Looks like the long days of waiting for basketball season are over for UNC fans. Wyoming also beat Tennessee 13-7 in Knoxville. Also, #16 LSU and #1 Alabama are tied @ 21 with just under 2 minutes left. Alabama has the ball at the LSU 41. Some other good games later: #9 Oklahoma State @ #2 Texas Tech - 8 PM on ABC #21 Cal @ #7 USC - 8 PM on ABC Edited by ev., Nov 8 2008, 08:03 PM.
