I've recently begun trying to use FFMPEG. I've installed WAMP2 server, which includes PHP and the GD library. I've been having a lot of trouble installing FFMPEG, though. I've downloaded the ffmpeg_new package, copied the correct DLLs to the System32 folder and the php/ext folder. WAMP now has the option under PHP->Extensions for me to enable ffmpeg, so I did. However, when I try to use it in PHP, I still get the problem that the ffmpeg extension is not loaded. Anyone know why? Or is there anyone who can help me install this thing? -IMP

May seem like a silly question, but trust me, even I've forgotten to do this ... did you restart the server? |

Yes. It is a library for PHP that should let me easily process and convert video files. Unfortunately, as I said, PHP seeme not to recognize (or else has trouble loading) the extension, even though WAMP2 Server recognizes its installation. Can anyone help? -IMP

WAMP auto-restarts Apache when you enable/disable extensions from the interface. Better question, are you sure the FFMPEG version you're using is compatible with the PHP version in WAMP? The latest version uses the threadsafe Win32 build of PHP 5.2.6. You should try php -v in the command line with the php.ini file set to enable that extension to see if you get any warnings or errors. |

I had so much trouble trying to get ffmpeg installed on PHP+Mac. It worked fine when I tried it on Linux, but Mac was another story. I had to install several other libraries to get it to just compile, and then even when it compiled it wouldn't record audio when I tried to convert videos. Hmm, that was a W, not an M. My bad. The command prompt doesn't show any errors when I try that, but I do get a weird dialog error saying the following: "The procedure entry point _zval_copy_ctor could not be located in the dynamic link library php5ts.dll" Does that mean that DLL is corrupt or something? Or am I doing something wrong? -IMP
