This is my forum,
Domain Link:http://areashuffle.co.cc
Original Link:http://z10.invisionfree.com/Area_Shuffle/

And here is my problem,
My forum is suppose to be a shuffle community, But I keep getting spambots and lifeless people that keep posting porn onto my forum. I had to delete the topics and mass move some to the spam section if i'm tired to delete all of them.

So how do i stop this from happening?
Please advise,
Thank you in advance.

1st. Go to Your ACP --> Permission Masks --> Member Forum Mask (default Permission Mask, wich Your default Members group is using) --> Edit

For each of Your forum, disable (uncheck) possibility to Start

2nd. After You will complete 1st, go again to Permission Masks --> Create a new permission mask --> Inherit forum permission mask from...

Name somehow that new Permission Mask. It must have possibility to Start enabled.

3rd. Go to ACP --> Manage User Groups --> Add a new member group --> Base new group on... --> Members (Your default Members group).

Name that new group somehow, include in Use Forum Permission Access... that new Permission Mask (from 2nd) You made.

4th. Go to ACP --> Manage User Groups --> Members --> Edit Group --> Group Promotion --> Promote members of this group to: --> *that new group from 3rd* when they reach 1 post[/b]

Nothing wrong with a good old fashion ban. You can't do this but I ban people from the server itself, range IP bans when neccessary, and then I contact their ISP. :) Fun, the ISP usually takes care of them by stopping their internet connection in a severe situation. Often these people have multiple complaints to their ISP and the ISP takes action based on that.

Good luck! And I hope you get this sorted out,

Not really. IP ban may affect innocente users, also usually bots are registering, posting one thread and disappearing. Eventually You may ban E-Mails, especially with "ru" at end. But again, Russians will be not able to register at your board. Also not always is possible or worth to contact ISP.

ISPs log every complaint against a hostname, I'm pretty sure they have to do this by law.

After a hostname gets so many complaints, bye bye Internet access through that ISP. If the complaint involves a legal matter, they investigate it and will often take civil or federal action based on the situation.

There are ways for a Webmaster to allow users around a ranged ban.

During my tenure at Mugglenet, I've caused at least 3 people to loose their Internet access for abusing our IRC network and for hacking attempts. One particular user attempted to get information about Joanne Rowling, the Author of the Harry Potter series, approximately 23 hours after we finished a live chat with her. I was the security administrator during that time and was able to stop him and inform his ISP.

This was a few years ago, but the guy lost his Internet connection and the ISP took legal action for abusing their network and unauthorized use of a computer, Mugglenet decided to forgoe any legal proceedings.

I fixed the hole in the firewall and surounded our information for Jo with a ton of security and then put it behind an offline server. All we had was her IP and the E-mail she used to connect to the server as well as some publicist info, but we wern't taking any chances.

I would set your registration setting to admin aproval. You might require users to post in a rules thread or aquire a certain post count to see the rest of the board after you aprove their registration.
