Sup.. Designed this poster for my school's choir director. He hosts a variety show each year and had me design the posters for the 07-09 years. This is the design we went with but I was just curious what other people think about it now. I think there's some areas I could've done better maybe such as the tips of the microphones. I think... it looks nice, but that it's going to be quite expensive to print. Plus you'll need a pretty high quality printer

I don't really dig the style, it's kind of stale. It's a very strange combination of fonts, you know? The color scheme works alright though. |

Not necessarily. It won't be any more expensive than any other CMYK printing job if printed lithographically, or with any other industry printing presses (unless you're talking about using a desktop printer, then you're right ).I think it's not bad. The background is a tad dark for my taste, and I agree with Ricky - you've used far too many fonts. I would suggest using no more than three fonts on posters such as this, because otherwise it's just to hard to really understand, and in your poster the amount of different fonts only contribute to the poster not flowing particularly well. Keep practicing.

I just mean because it has a coloured background at all. It's for a school thing, so it probably doesn't have tons and tons of money to spend, it would be a lot more expensive then a white background. |

Hmm ok. Ty for the tips. i hadn't really thought about the fonts thing. I'd figured i'd spice up the "logo" of the poster so to speak and keep the information plain. Perhaps I can alter the curning/leading of the type next time instead of a different font altogether. As for the printability deal, I'd talked to the guy I made it for and he said that for the posters it wasnt much of an issue really because he had a guy that did them industrially in large quantities. Honestly though, I don't have nearly as much experience in the production end as I do in the designing end. |
