http://z13.invisionfree.com/RP__Central/ How do I add members to a usergroup? (If this question has already been asked like infinity bajillion times or something, don't post here, just send me a PM explaining how and I'll just delete my post.) Edited by The Virus of Life, Jan 8 2009, 10:31 PM.

Are you wanting to move certain members who have already registered, or edit the defaults / set up your own groups? |

I just want to add members to a usergroup. I know how to make usergroups, and even make forums so that only they can see them, as I work with phpbb88. The current forum isn't open to users per se, as it's the proposed forum for us to move to. (Phpbb88 has been performing poorly recently, so me and my admins are thinking about a move.) |

Navigate to your AdminCP - Users and Groups - Find/Edit/Suspend User. In the new page type the user's name and click Find Member. When found, click on Edit Details. Under Member Security Settings, choose the Member Group you wish the member to be moved to. Scroll to the bottom and click Edit this member. Repeat this process to move more members, if necessary. |

Okay, so what if a member needs to be in multiple groups? |

That isn't strictly possible, but you can override their permission masks. Head back to Find/Edit/Suspend User, and choose your user. Look under Member Security Settings for Override group forum permission mask with... and choose the desired permission mask for them to use. This, for example, can allow you to leave a user in the members group and give them moderator capabilities, without the need to create a whole new group for them. |

Ehhhh...I'm abandoning this idea. Usergroups don't work like they do on phpbb88. But thanks for the help! |
