I don't see this being a very reliable host since they're on a reseller account (http://spiralmindsinc.com/), but thos eplans would be possible on a low-end Dual Xeon box, but there would only be about $50 left over to pay for support techs ;). |

My host is 70$ a year, and I get 2 gigs of space, 75 gigs of bandwidth a month, and every cpanel thing you could think of. oh, and unlimited across the board. |

Most probably. I'll ask the owner, if you wish. And as for Nitrous X, let's put it this way - they haven't been done ONCE yet. Edit; And for Jayster - remember that's just the Basic Plan

Never being down can be considered a bad thing, you know. It means that the server never undergoes maintenence, leaving it prone to crashing completely. |

That's not what I meant, it's never been down like I said, but similarly it's never had a problem. I'd be very, very surprised if the owner let his customers down for any longer than about a minute. |

Hello, I am the webmaster of Vtech Hosting. If you don't belive that you can verify it by emailing me webmaster@vtechhosting.net Firstly, I would like to thank Renegade Xero for advertising my hosting company. He is, if you know or if you don't, a customer. I would like to say a few things. @Luke. : The plans will always stay as it is, the prices will never increase. All I change is the actual packages. You get unlimited email accounts, ftp, mysql databases, lists and more. And if you pay for the first 6 months or year, you get a free domain name for a year. (you have total control over the domain for that year) @Nitrous X: Consider it not be. Our host fully monitors their own web servers. We have had some troubles, but they have been very minor. With tech support staff with the servers and dedicated support systems, there servers are at the higest possible standard. And I mean, that we haven't had any real downtime, as we can promise 99.9% uptime, we just do some maintainance @Oblivion.:How can you say that? Still, I have forked out well over $500 over the pass 2 months alone, upgrading my account, buying things especially for my hosting company. All my money is used to help Vtech Hosting. And as we say, we take pride in our customers ![]() @Jayster: That's bad, boasting about a host won't get you know where. And you'd actually pay for that? I garantee you wouldn't even use a gig. Cpanel too :o We over everything a host does, exept reselling and servers. If you want a custom plan like that, ask me, and I can assure you, the prices are much cheaper. @Luke. again: Like I said above, mate ![]() So, I hope I have answered your questions

So you spent over $500, yet you're still on a reseller plan?
That's the server you're expecting to get soon, one thing is it's overpriced @ £99 (Get one in the US), and how will that make you any profit? 99.00 GBP = 172.685 USD 650/20=32.5 32*4.99=159.68 That's if everyone bought the smallest plan on a monthly basis, you'd already be loosing money, and that's before overheads and support costs. Prehaps it's just me, but I think you shoudl re-think your business plan, unless you're planning on doing lots of overselling which just causes problems for your customers. |

Makes you wonder how they can afford to keep prices so low? Are they cutting back in others areas, e.g, support. |

Clever thinking. It's good to see a ifsz member, with a brain True, but hosting is just a small part of my overal business.

I've looked into hosting before, if you have decent support, that can be one of the biggest costs for you If hosting is just 'part of your business', why bother running it if you'd end up loosing money? I run various sites, knowing that they will make atleast enough to keep themselves open, it's the first thing I think of before opening a site, and that's what business plans are bade for ;). I'll leave it here, it's your business and it's upto you how you run it. |

Yes, support is a huge cost, but think of it like this. You have 1000 customers, yet you need a support person for that 1000. Think of the cost you get from the members a month and how much you have to pay the support staff people. You make a profit in the end, pal
