No. We require a fleet of planes for our world domination plans. Any and all scrap planes go directly to us, I have it written down on a sticky note somewhere! :P

Don't know how familiar many of you are with craigslist, so this one might need some explaining.
There are a lot of people who spend a lot of time scouring craigslist for free or cheap stuff to snatch up and sell as scrap metal to recycling places or attempt to resell on craigslist or ebay, etc., and many (or most?) of these people are "meth-heads" or druggies of some other sort.
This is good in the sense that more recycling is getting done (theoretically), and druggies are less likely to rob you for drug money.
It does, however, also mean that almost anything free or cheap that gets posted is snatched up almost immediately and a lot of it could be going to people who need and would appreciate it more.

Anyway...
With that little bit of background, I present you with this:

If only that were true. The scrap value on a plane is actually pretty high, more for parts than metal.

When does a rock become a boulder?
When does a few become several?
Who can say...

Deleted User has a duffel bag in the garage full of probably 200lbs of rocks he's collected over the years, with more scattered around in random boxes..waiting to finally get "moved in" sometime :ermm:

That bag of rocks might make a good substitute for a sock full of pennies one day. I've always found the latter is such a waste of good money. :/

Could be, yes..
Maybe I can subconsciously hear them screaming and that's why I've had even more weird dreams than usual lately?

Sock full of pennies?
What's that all about?
And how would a bag of rocks substitute?

I use a Captain Morgan Private Stock bag to put my pennies in and then take it to the bank when it's full enough to justify a trip.
Holds something like $20, if I recall.

Used to use a giant, wide-mouthed wine jug labeled "Crack Money" for all my change, both because it's funny to see people's reaction when they think I might be saving up spare change for ages to buy crack, and because when I made it I was working as an auto detailer and would find change (along with all sorts of crazy and often disgusting &#^^) that had fallen into the cracks between the seat cushions, etc.
It got rather heavy long before it was full though, and was a bit awkward in general, but I primarily stopped using it because it was slow to empty and I didn't want to piss off the bank tellers.

I also have a large metal bucket in my garage, full of a couple thousand marbles that used to be in another duffel bag.
Once upon a time, it was more like 20,000 marbles, but I had this Wrist Rocket and they made perfect ammo, so there are probably still several thousand of them scattered around the neighborhood where I grew up.
In case anyone is wondering, they were all given to me at once by my old friend Steve, whose grandfather worked at or owned a store or warehouse that had marbles and whenever he visited would give him all the bags that had broken open and couldn't be sold, until they filled an entire 5 or 6 drawer dresser to the point of bursting, and then his family decided to move to California and wouldn't let him take them along, so I got them. :)
I will probably give them to my nephew when he gets a couple years older and his little brother won't eat them.
[/ramble]

Haven't seen any good ads today. :r

Any idea how old the marbles are? I ask because old marbles are worth a bunch. I had some from my grandpa that apparently were valuable. Wish I had known that before I chipped them all playing on concrete. Oh well.

Not really, no.
A couple from my grandparent's house are probably from the 60's or earlier and are mixed in with the rest, most of which are probably from the early 70's to about 1980..
A few dozen are from another friend who collected them, and these are mostly single color translucent ones in greens and blues, and a handful are white glass with colored glass mixed in, and I think a few might be white glass with coloring painted on the surface somehow..?
I know nothing about marbles. :/

Deleted User cheers for :/ smileys without noses
